Mental Health Workplace Training

FISA continues to take several calls, including those calls that involve caring conversations around the need for support for the callers wellbeing /Mental Health.  For these conversations we are here to listen and access professional support when needed.

Support in Mind Scotland is one of those reputable routes used for support and information. They are running Mental Health Workplace Training; much of which can be via virtual training and can be arranged UK wide (as Support in Mind Scotland work with partnering organisations throughout UK & Ireland).

More information can be found at, and the flyer below.

FISA Bulletin

There are a number of mental health risk factors associated with forestry.  Forestry workers often work in isolation and can now be under significant financial pressure particularly during Covid.  Forestry can in some cases involve long hours and even significant effects from the weather.

Mental health can often be a hidden problem, FISA have issued bulletins and articles to raise awareness of this growing issue in the industry (and all rural industries), and since then, one thing has become evident; health and wellbeing should not be ignored – by any of us.  Mental health support has never been so important, and this week (18 – 24 May) is Mental Health Awareness Week, with a Worldwide focus on mental health.

We've put together some helpful contacts covering the different regions, all will speak to you in confidence and help you to get the right help.
