WORKING SAFELY WITH ELECTRICITY AND UTILITIES
OBJECTIVE:
There have, and continue to be some very serious electricity and utilities related incidents. We need a common understanding of the key safety management issues when working close to electricity utilities. We will work with distribution companies and landowners to create up-to-date guidelines and recommendations for this working environment.

Action: Generate operational guidelines and recommendations for forest operations near electricity and utilities.

Publication (to web site) of guidance notes
Safety bulletins to raise awareness

Priorities and Action Plan
Agree on basic objectives and scope of the work
Decide on any potential ‘output’ information
Consider the integration with existence of any current guidelines
Consider any training requirements that result from work
Establish links to other groups on Managing Safety Doc (Group 1) and Competency development (Group 8)
Have agreed communication plan to membership
