Chainsaw work using ear defenders - avoid distraction

A reminder, you should not use ear defenders to play music /podcasts when undertaking chainsaw work. 

If ear defenders are used to play music or podcasts, risks in the surrounding environment /surrounding activity when using a chainsaw may not be heard, for example

• a co-worker trying to get your attention,
• a machine approaching into the risk zone,
• listening for wood movement when felling large diameter trees or in windblown operations.
