Auto-tensioning timber straps case study

In 2020 the Timber Transport Forum partnered with James Jones & Sons Ltd and Annandale Transport Ltd to trial trailer-mounted auto-tensioning timber straps. This STTF-supported trial started in February 2021 and will conclude in February 2022. The results so far demonstrate an improvement in road safety due to enhanced load security. Unloading times are also reduced. Attached is a case study describing the results of the trial.

The Timber Transport Forum thanks James Jones & Sons Ltd and Annandale Transport Ltd for participating in the trial, and the Scottish Government for providing a 50% contribution towards the eligible project costs via the Strategic Timber Transport Fund (STTF).
