TikTok Karaoke and mobile phone use

FISA Safety Bulletin

FISA recently received a phone call from an employer seeking advice on managing mobile phone use; mobile phone policy and disciplinary proceedings following serious disregard by an employee on mobile phone use.  This occurred due to the employee alarmingly using their mobile phone whilst driving to film their singing attempt at TikTok Karaoke.

Quoting a ROSPA paper, ‘Drivers who use a hand-held or a hands-free mobile phone are four times more likely to crash, injuring or killing themselves and/or other people

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome

If you drive any type of vehicle for your living, or have responsibility for others that drive, you should ensure you are aware of the condition known as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome (OSAS).
More associated with HGV drivers who are driving long distances, the condition can also affect others who drive for long stints during the day too, such as harvester and forwarder drivers.
