TEUFELBERGER - treeMOTION Essential/Pro

Call for Inspection

As part of TEUFELBERGER’s commitment to quality and safety, TEUFELBERGER is requesting that you immediately check

  • the hardware of certain treeMOTION Essential/Pro product harnesses for corrosion damage and
  • any rope and/or webbing used with the harness for abrasion, in addition to the inspection intervals specified in TEUFELBERGER’s instructions for use.

The high-strength aluminum utilized in the hardware of personal protective equipment ensures necessary performance characteristics of such hardware, but despite protective anodizing measures, oxidation and corrosion can occur. Various factors such as a salty atmosphere, excessive humidity, exposure to sea water or sweat, and contact with other metals can contribute to corrosion formation. Corrosion may increase the risk of abrasion of ropes and/or webbings that contact such hardware.
Proper maintenance, including frequent rinsing with clean drinking water and avoiding direct contact with other metals such as steel, is important and can reduce the likelihood of corrosion and rope and/or webbing abrasion.

With respect to a small number of treeMOTION Essential/Pro products with the following article numbers 7350316, 735016A, 7350317, 7350318, 7350319, 7350320, 7350321, TEUFELBERGER has received reports of corrosion of aluminum hardware at increased levels. Harnesses with a production dates between 05/2022 and 10/2024 are affected. Almost all of those cases have been reported from coastal regions, humid and hot climate zones.
