Passing under Overhead Power Lines

FISA Safety Bulletin

We have had a query from a FISA member regarding identifying the heights of overhead powerlines (OHPLs) and the passing clearances for access roads.

FISA 804 Electricity at Work: Forestry, advises that ‘where OHPLs cross the access road to a worksite, the Landowner must consult the Network Operator to establish the height of the OHPLs.  Warning notices must be prominently displayed at each side of the lines, clearly showing the maximum safe height for vehicles passing under the lines, and clearly marked on all site maps’.
