Forest Haulage CPC - Cancelled due to Covid until spring 2021

CPC +F Training update - September 2020

Unfortunately Covid19 continues to cause problems – with further measures looking increasingly likely. Arranging multi person classroom based training against this backdrop is challenging, so the decision has been taken to delay all courses until spring 2021 when the situation can be reviewed. All parties who have expressed interest/ booked will be kept informed of new 2021 dates as soon as possible.

Work is continuing on producing an ‘induction video’ for new HGV sector entrants/agency drivers ho may not have any forest experience. This will be available to the industry online (and on a memory stick) in late October.

All HGV drivers must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years in order to retain their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

The FISA Forest Haulage Working group has been planning a focused course that will deliver a 7 hour Forest Haulage CPC +F module for drivers. This will include drivers of timber haulage vehicles, low loaders, materials deliveries and fuel tankers. The FISA working group recommend that Harvesting FWM’s undertake the training to better understand haulage issues and that this is classed as Continual Professional Development (CPD).
