Introduction

Welcome to the training section of the FISA Web site.

Training update - January 2021 - FISA Interim training provision during FISA withdrawal from established training

The FISA Steering Group has previously agreed that FISA should step back from established training. This is now in process; but we await development and roll out of the FWM CPD training and the chainsaw competency system.

Training has also been affected by the Covid pandemic, with limited ‘on-site’ training provision.

It is proposed that FISA in the interim, continue to offer chainsaw refresher training (when able and subject to stringent Covid control measures) and an interim, virtual FWM instructor led course (equivalent to the existing FWM one day basic training).  These would be provided to ensure that training provision can continue whilst development of the new systems and change over to the Lantra host for records happens.  Certificates will in the interim be issued by FISA, and these will then be added to the records that are transferred across to the new systems.

Please look around to see what FISA training is available and how to apply. We have a small range of courses available - simply follow the relevant tab to review more details.
