Chainshot - what is the risk?

Forestry and Timber News article - August 2020

Chainshot has been the cause of a number of fatal accidents around the world and a recent near fatal accident in the UK.

Chainshot is the ejected pieces of a saw chain following a chain break which travel at ballistic speeds (700 mph).

Chainshot has as much kinetic energy as a bullet fired from a rifle.
