New guidance and key survey findings on managing visitors with dogs in woodlands

Forestry Commission are pleased to share both a summary of the survey results and the new guidance on managing visitors with dogs in woodlands:

  • We have compiled the survey results, which can be accessed here: Managing dog walking in woodlands: survey results. The findings provided valuable insights into the positive experiences and challenges you face when managing dog walking activities in your woodlands.
  • We used this to develop the new guidance, which is now available here: Managing visitors with dogs in your woodland. This guidance aims to provide a range of clear, practical measures for managing dog walking in woodlands.

Forestry Commission have also published a Managing people and public access in your woodland page, where, you can find wider information to support managing people in your woodlands.

Inspection of Work Equipment & Machines

This Technical Note will only focus on the requirements in relation to inspection of equipment and machines. But it is the responsibility of the employer to familiarise themselves with the other elements of Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) / Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) (LOLER).
