A drone undertaking an aerial fertilising operation suffered a severe electrical failure and crash-landed on a worksite. The worksite was located in a remote area, away from any public infrastructure.

The FWM was immediately informed of the incident and was able to help with the recovery of the drone. There were no injured parties or damaged property. Pilot error was not a contributing factor. The drone contractor completed an accident report in line with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ‘s CAP722 documentation. The Contractor has shared flight data and warning messages reports with the supplier to try to establish the exact nature of the incident. This type of fault has been recorded in several cases globally and is being addressed by the manufacture.
