Chainsaw Operative - Trapped Foot

Scottish Woodlands Health & Safety Bulletin

An incident where a chainsaw operator trapped his foot while breaking down a fallen tree. This required successfully calling the emergency services and an out come without serious injury.

The bulletin covers several learning points which could have prevented this incident and also the positive actions by the team on site.

Look also to crown breakdown section in FISA 307, Chainsaw  felling of large trees, and particularly the importance of having a winch to prevent stems rolling.
