Call for Evidence Live - HSE’s Review of LOLER & PSSR

FISA via the FISA Plant & Equipment WG will be feeding into the HSE Review of LOLER (& PSSR).

HSE is gathering information and evidence relating to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment (LOLER) and whether their scope and application are still fit for purpose.

This call for evidence aims to gather information and evidence that the HSE will use to:

  • Help identify and reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens to save businesses time and money without compromising safety; and
  • Understand and identify whether the current application of the regulations reflects technological advances

The Call for Evidence (CfE) has now officially launched and is available on the HSE website, and you can access the CfE via the following links:

As a reminder, this review forms part of the Regulatory Action Programme (RAP), a government initiative led by HM Treasury aimed at reforming the UK’s regulatory landscape to support economic growth, innovation, and business productivity. The RAP seeks to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy, enhance regulatory efficiency, and ensure legislation keeps pace with technological advancements and modern working practices.

Please feel free to share this with relevant colleagues and networks. As noted, the CfE is closing on 11th November 2025.

If you would like to share your comments with the FISA Plant & Equipment Working Group, please send comments to Admin@ukfisa.com by 04.11.25; alternatively if you would like to respond directly you can do so on the HSE links provided.
